VW Mk8 Gen4 TSI PCV Retrofit Kit - Upgrade for VW Mk7/Mk7.5, Atlas, Tiguan, Audi 8V, B9 Gen 3 TSI 1.8T/2.0T
The factory equipped PCV system on Gen3 TSI equipped Audis and VWs is prone to burning oil under hard cornering. If you're into regularly pushing your car hard through twisty back roads or go to the track a lot, you've probably experienced quite a bit of smoke coming out of your tail pipe.
Fortunately, the PCV system on the Gen4 TSI engine has been substantially improved and can easily be retrofitted to the Gen3 TSI engine with only a few parts. We've put together this kit for those looking to perform this upgrade themselves. Everything you'll need is included.*
*If you have aftermarket charge pipes or if your turbocharger does not have a turbo muffler adapter, please see the section below before ordering!
Kit Includes:
- 06K103210D - Genuine Audi/VW PCV Breather Valve Hose
- 06Q103495B - Genuine Audi/VW PCV Valve/Oil Separator
- 06M906094 - Genuine Audi/VW Sealing Cap (also called a bung)
- Vacuum Cap
034Motorsport Turbo Muffler Delete Option
Using 034Motorsport's Turbo Muffler Delete eliminates the need to tap into the charge pipe. This is possible because it comes equipped with a 1/8" NPT fitting. We highly recommend adding this upgrade to your kit for the easiest possible install. You also get the bonus of adding more turbo sounds to your engine with this upgrade.
Video Explanation
Data Driven MQB has put together a fantastic video that goes over the ins and outs of the factory Gen3 TSI PCV system and why the Mk8 Gen4 PCV system is a big improvement for it. Please check out the video if you're interested in learning more.

Aftermarket Charge Pipes/Turbochargers Without a Turbo Muffler Adapter
If you have aftermarket charge pipes on your Gen3 TSI engine, or if you have a turbocharger without a turbo muffler adapter, some extra work is required to install this kit. You will need to tap for pressure somewhere between the turbo outlet and the throttle body.
Some aftermarket charge pipes come equipped with a 1/8" NPT fitting for water/meth injection. If that is the case with yours, you can simply use that existing fitting.
If you have an aluminum charge pipe, you may have a 1/8" bung welded to it.
If you have plastic charge pipes, or you would prefer not to weld a bung onto your aluminum charge pipe, you may drill and tap a hole to install a 1/8" NPT fitting. Please note that if you are going to do this, make sure the wall of the pipe is thick enough to support the new fitting. You'll also want to ensure that it is properly sealed to prevent a vacuum leak.
If all of this seems a little outside of your skill level and you would prefer to have a professional install this kit for you, please contact us to set up an appointment.
