STAGE 1
034Motorsport Stage 1 Performance Software for the EA839 3.0T engine running pump gas is engineered to safely increase the horsepower and torque with no hardware required. Due to the significant addition of torque from just Stage 1, the 034Motorsport AL552 ZF8 TCU tune is recommended to be run in parallel with our ECU tuning.
In addition to power improvements, 034Motorsport's engineers spent a significant amount of time refining the throttle mapping in order to provide improved throttle response and allow for more precise throttle modulation and further control of the vehicle when driving on track.
034Motorsport EA839 3.0T Performance Software is flashed via the factory OBD-II port, and does not require any physical modification of the factory ECU. Stage 1 is available in 91 Octane, 93 Octane, and E85. ALL FILES ARE US (MON+RON) RATING, ROW OCTANE RATINGS MAY DIFFER
STAGE 2
034Motorsport Stage 2 Performance Software for the EA839 3.0T engine running pump gas or ethanol is engineered to safely increase the horsepower and torque with the addition of 034Motorsport’s Stainless Steel Racing Catalyst and upgraded intercooler. The Upgraded Catalyst allows for increased exhaust flow with the factory turbocharger, while 034Motorsport’s proprietary calibrations safely yield additional power from the EA839 3.0T engine.
In addition to power improvements, 034Motorsport's engineers spent a significant amount of time refining the throttle mapping in both Dynamic and Comfort modes to provide improved throttle response and allow for more precise throttle modulation.

NOTE: Secondary Air Injection upon Cold-Start is disabled with Stage 2 files. Your car will still heat up normally and safely, but without the raised RPM found on Stock or Stage 1.

Significant time was spent refining and safely optimizing the TTE710, Pure750 and TTE810 Turbocharger calibrations to ensure unrivaled drivability and uncompromised reliability. While many tuners can achieve great power figures that look impressive on a dyno sheet or a webpage, the key to a truly substantive and transformative software upgrade lies in the strategies employed to make power efficiently and safely.

Dynamic+ Stage 3/3+ Software for the Pure750 & TTE810 Turbocharger is optimized for use with upgraded OEM Audi 2.9TT/4.0TT Direct Fuel Injectors (p/n: 06M906036AQ). The OEM Audi 2.9TT/4.0TT Direct Fuel Injectors are a required hardware upgrade for Stage 3/3+ Dynamic+ Tuning for the Pure750 & TTE810 Turbocharger that allows you to maximize your power output safely.

034Motorsport B9 Audi S4/S5/SQ5 EA839 3.0T Dynamic+ Performance Software was developed entirely in-house on 034Motorsport's Development B9 S4, and B9 SQ5. The calibrations were then refined on multiple enthusiast-owned beta tester cars around North America.
Included at no extra cost is the Stage 1 Dynamic+ Performance TCU Software for B9 Audi S4, S5, or SQ5 models equipped with the AL552 8-Speed ZF8 transmission. At an extra cost, upgrade to the Stage 2 TCU Tuning to further enhance the shifting and acceleration of your ZF8 Equipped 3.0T! Flashed directly through your vehicle’s OBD-II port, 034Motorsport’s proprietary calibrations for the AL552 TCU safely and effectively raise the torque limits of the ZF8, allowing your car to make use of Stage 1,Stage 2, and Stage 3 TTE710 Performance Software.
034Motorsport Engineers develop special inhouse tools that allow us to access the firmware and maps inside the factory ECU, this level of engineering is required to prevent work-arounds and bandaids that many aftermarket companies resort to. 034Motorsport engineers and optimizes the ECU calibrations just like Audi engineers would, but accessing the source of how the ECU controls the engine and making changes at the base level.
This is the ONLY way 034Motorsport can ensure our calibrations meet our high standards for ultimate power with smooth drivability, perfect function, reliability and added functions and features even beyond what the factory programming can provide.
NOTE: The E85 calibration is not a flex-fuel style tune. The tune will work with E85 directly from the pump, both summer and winter blends (ethanol content can vary from E60-E85). This tune requires only E85 be pumped into the fuel tank. Gasoline blends and race fuel mixtures should not be used, and engine damage could occur if the incorrect fuel or octane is used. We strongly recommend an ethanol content gauge be used so that you can monitor the actual ethanol content at the pump you are using.
When switching fuels, it takes about 20-30 minutes of normal driving for the new tank of fuel to fully circulate through the system when filled at E. Please minimize load (don’t floor it!) until you have driven the car for at least 30 minutes. Ethanol content analyzers installed close to the fuel rail will also help you see when the ethanol has fully run through the system.
WHY IS AL552 ZF8 TCU SOFTWARE NECESSARY ON THE EA839 3.0T?
As with any automatic transmission vehicle, the ECU and TCU computers work synchronously to properly apply torque to the vehicles drivetrain in a safe and reliable manner. Within both the ECU and TCU, there are factory safety tables that limit overall torque output based upon what the factory first tuned the car for. The ECU reports the output of torque from the engine to the TCU, and the TCU decides if this is suitable, or too much. If it is too much, the TCU will command the ECU to reduce torque output based upon its safety tables.
034Motorsport takes a holistic approach with its Dynamic+ tuning, and aims to retain as many OEM safety protocols as possible. While it is possible to tune around the factory TCU torque limiters from the ECU side, this is done at the expense of torque safety features that are integral in keeping your transmission running safely. 034Motorsport’s calibrators tune the ECU to work with the TCU to provide accurate torque values, and recalibrate the appropriate safety ranges for the TCU. Taking these extra steps to retain OEM safety systems on the ECU and TCU side is just one of the many reasons that Dynamic+ software provides substantial yet reliable performance increases.
034Motorsport are happy to provide their Stage 1 Dynamic+ TCU tuning at no additional cost ($150 value) to the customer in order to ensure that you are maximizing the performance and reliability of your 3.0T equipped vehicle!
DYNAMIC+ ECU FEATURES:
TRUE LAUNCH CONTROL:
From the factory, conventional launch control strategies are not activated in the ECU. 034Motorsport’s skilled Calibration team has properly engineered and implemented true launch control functionality to the EA839 and AL552 ZF8. Through OEM Calibration strategies of timing reduction, Boost Control PID optimization, and torque target management, the system is able to allow for a maximum 3,000-3,500 RPM launch targeting 22psi for up to 8 seconds, making for a strong and smooth launch! Unlike the factory ECU that tries to “push through the brakes” on a standing brake launch, the 034Motorsport Dynamic+ calibration will allow proper loading of the engine without pushing through the brakes as hard, and properly targets a specified RPM to launch at.
THERMAL MANAGEMENT SAFETY STRATEGIES:
With increased power, comes increased heat. With increased heat, comes the need for additional management. For both charge air temperature and engine coolant temperature, 034Motorsport has implemented key safety features to keep your engine running optimally and safely in virtually any condition - just like the OEM calibration. Substantial effort was spent on balancing the trade off of charge temp for power, and improving the compressor efficiency so that it doesn't generate too much charge temp.
Charge Air Temp: When the charge temp exceeds 80*C there is a reduction in power output. When the charge temp exceeds 85*C there is a more significant reduction in power output. This charge temp limitation is there to prevent knock events, which can severely damage a motor. With these safety measures in place, you can confidently drive your car, from the top of Pikes Peak to Death Valley, knowing the factory ECU has optimal performance and safety covered..
Coolant Temp/Fan Strategy: From the factory, Audi likes to run hotter water temps to reduce fluid friction losses from cooler, more viscous oil. While better for efficiency, this strategy becomes a safety issue when loads and heat are increased. 034Motorsport calibrators have rescaled the coolant temperature targets and fan control strategies to target lower coolant temperatures when in higher heat conditions, allowing the car to run within a safe heat range rescaled for the added heat that comes from tuning the engine. Once again, this means that 034Motorsport calibrators have kept your confidence in safety fully intact from the OEM configuration.
RS-STYLE STARTUP REV ENABLED:

START/STOP BUTTON MEMORY:
The Dynamic+ Tuning options for the EA839 3.0T all retain the Start/Stop engine functionality, but allow users to set memory for the system based upon preference. If you do not want the Start/Stop system to run, turn it off via the in-cabin button and the car will store that selection even after key cycling the car. If you would like it to stay on, select it to be on via the in-cabin button. This is done in a completely OEM fashion, helping enhance the overall experience of driving your car!
INCREASED POWER AND ACCELERATION DURING SHIFT EVENT:
034Motorsport tuning safely applies more power throughout the shift event, increasing overall acceleration and performance.
ENHANCED CRACKLES IN DYNAMIC MODE:
034Motorsport engineers have enhanced the crackles for maximum auditory pleasure! Crackles can be toggled on or off via Drive Select. They will be on in Dynamic and off in Comfort, giving you the ability to crackle when you want, and cruise quietly when you don't. In Individual, crackles can be toggled on or off via Engine Sound. NOTE: Launch Control Only Works in True Dynamic Mode.
Crackle results may vary based on ECU box code variations, fuels, exhaust setup, and geographic locations. 034Motorsport also offers no-crackle files available upon request. Please email Tuning@034Motorsport.com for more information if you do not see them in your flashing portal.
EXHAUST FLAPS PERMANENTLY OPEN IN DYNAMIC MODE:
From the Factory, Audi will open and close the exhaust flaps randomly, even in Dynamic mode. With 034Motorsport tuning, When set to Dynamic, the exhaust valves will now stay constantly open.
FREE REVVING IN NEUTRAL AND PARK:
The rev-limiter is now removed while in Neutral and Park. Impress friends and annoy those around you with limitless ease!
FUEL SYSTEM OPTIMIZATION:
While E85 provides substantial increases in power, it requires about 30% more fuel than standard pump gasoline per ignition cycle. Utilizing a variety of fuel stratified injection strategies, 034Motorsport calibrators have further optimized the factory fueling system to be able to adequately support full E85 on factory hardware for Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes.
Stage 2 and Stage 3 Dynamic+ TCU Features:

Optimized Shift Points:
In order to take advantage of the increased powerband from the turbocharger, Dynamic+ Tuning optimizes the shift points in Sport Mode to maximize acceleration while retaining smooth drivability.
When purchasing the Stage 2 TCU Tune, you will be offered specific calibrations for either E85/Race Gas and for 91/93 Octane (Pump Gas) when flashing! Both TCU calibrations are included free of charge. Each specific TCU variant sets shift points to correspond to the optimal RPM for the powerband that your car now has from your upgraded ECU tune. The Stage 3 TCU tune is maximized for pump gas and ethanol files.
Kickdown Switch Disabled in Manual Mode:
When in Manual mode, you no longer need to worry about accidentally pushing through the kickdown switch on the throttle pedal!
Improved Shift Speeds:
To further enhance the acceleration of your Audi, the ZF8 shift times are dramatically decreased in all driving modes, which ultimately results in quicker acceleration.
Shift pressures are also increased in Sport Mode to maximize performance. In Sport Mode, you will notice less lazy shifts, more firm shifts, which ultimately results in quicker acceleration.
AMAX Shifting:
AMAX Shifting is a shifting strategy that stands for “Acceleration Maximum.” These gear shifts are the fastest and quickest possible for optimal acceleration . These are activated in shifting after launching your vehicle from a stop using launch control.
AMAX shift points are now optimized for specific RPM setpoints for Pump Gas ECU tunes, and Race Gas/Ethanol ECU tunes. Select the specific TCU file to match your current octane when flashing your TCU! The Stage 3 TCU tune is maximized for pump gas and ethanol files.
The S4/S5 has AMAX now activated in the 4-5 and 5-6 shifts where it was previously disabled from the factory. The SQ5 now has AMAX activated in all shifts from 1st through 6th where it was previously disabled from the factory.
Rolling KLi-MAX
By flashing the "+ Rolling KLi-MAX" TCU file, you are enabling Rolling KLi-MAX! KLi-MAX shifting is the activation of 034Motorsport optimized AMAX gear shifts, something that is already used as a shift strategy during the use of launch control, allowing for the quickest and fastest shifts. KLi-MAX shifts minimize the torque reduction that takes place during a gear shift while increasing necessary clutch and line pressures to safely transfer more torque throughout the gear shift.
With the addition of Rolling KLi-MAX, this shifting strategy can now be engaged at any time, not just when using launch control! This shift strategy is now added to additional transmission modes (Sport & Manual) and will activate at wide-open throttle over 5,500 RPMUsers will audibly notice the lack of "farts" while on this file at wide-open-throttle. This strategy reduces the potential for transmission slip and allows for the fastest shifts possible, and is best used when looking to maximize straight-line acceleration from a roll.

NOTE: We do not recommend toggling Rolling KLi-MAX during significant prolonged wide-open throttle driving, like during an HDPE Track Session.
No Auto Upshift
By flashing the "+No Auto Upshift" file available in your flashing portal, your vehicle will not automatically upshift in manual mode. Your vehicle instead will hold at the engine redline until you shift your car. This feature is especially helpful when driving during HDPE or Autocross events where you want to ensure the car stays in the exact gear you want. This is a feature that is standard with the factory RS5, which we now offer to you with your S4, S5, or SQ5!
Stage 3 TCU Only - Second Gear Launch
By flashing the "+2nd Gear Launch" file available to Stage 3 TCU customers in their flashing portal, your will be able to toggle between launching in 1st gear or 2nd gear while in the car. 034Motorsport engineers have implemented the option of 2nd Gear Launch for Stage 3 customers as a way to help manage wheelspin in lower traction surfaces. In times or locations where you experience excessive wheel spin while launching in 1st gear, you can select to launch in 2nd gear to better apply the significant torque of Stage 3.

NOTE: We do not recommend using this file when grip conditions are high or optimal. In our testing, we have found that the fastest accelerating launch method when grip is ideal is to launch in 1st gear.
