Vehicle Identification Information
Certain parts or upgrades require you to provide us with some extra information about your vehicle to verify that the part or upgrade will work properly with it.
This page will make your shopping experience smoother by explaining how you can easily find this information.
VIN
Stands for Vehicle Identification Number. This is the most commonly used piece of identification information on your vehicle. With your VIN we can typically find and verify just about any possible fitment information. If you are ever in doubt about the fitment of a part or upgrade, simply put your VIN into your shopping cart before checking out and we'll take care of the rest.
Your VIN is located on the bottom of the driver side of your front windshield.
If you are ever in doubt as to whether a part or upgrade will work with your car, providing us with your VIN is usually the best way for us to verify fitment.
For products that absolutely require a VIN, we have provided a VIN field on the product listing. You must enter your VIN to be able to purchase the product.
Production Date
Some vehicles have parts that require you to identify when your vehicle was produced. There are many reasons for a production split, but the good news is that it's very easy to find your vehicle's production date.
Simply open your driver's door and there will be a production label right on the B pillar of your car.
Engine Code
Each engine can be identified with a three letter/digit code. This code can be found physically stamped on the engine. However, the location of that stamp varies depending on the engine.
The easier way to find this information is on the production sticker located in the trunk of your vehicle. Simply open your hatch or trunk and access the spare tire well. The sticker should be located on the inside of that section. This production sticker will also have your paint code should you need that.
Box Code
This is essentially the virtual part number for your ECU. Your box code, along with the revision number, will allow us to check to see if a software tune is available or compatible with your vehicle.
To locate your box code yourself, check out this great guide that APR has put together.
If you are local to one of our shops, please feel free to stop by and we'll scan your car for free.
We Manually Verify Your Information
Whenever you enter your VIN or vehicle information when required by a certain product, nothing is verified at the time of purchase. Instead, one of our staff members will verify your information when they are processing your order. We do this because some of the fitment information for certain vehicles requires more than just entering a VIN into a database. Occasionally, we may need to contact the manufacturer of your vehicle to verify fitment information, and there is simply no way to automate that process. This also means that just because you are able to add a product to your cart with a VIN or vehicle that the part doesn't match, it does not mean that it will fit your car.
