Questions? We've got answers.
If your 2.0T TSI engine was produced prior to July of 2012, your engine could be in danger of catastrophic failure! The original upper timing chain tensioner design is faulty and the part can fall apart at any moment. When this tensioner fails, the engine will thrown out of proper timing and generally ends up eating several of the intake valves, which is very costly to replace.
We only use a genuine OEM VW/Audi tensioner when performing this service in our shop! We do not recommend or offer the cheaper off-brand tensioners that you may see elsewhere. This component is vital to your engine's operation and should only be replaced by a high quality, proven part.
Instead of waiting for an inevitable failure, replace your tensioner with this latest revision genuine OEM part, which fixes the original faulty design.
