ECU Add-on Tune Options

Dynamic Idle
Speed up engine-warm up with a 1,100 RPM (or another RPM of your choice) idle. The idle will return to stock state (approximately 830RPM) by 70C (158F) coolant temperature. Results may vary.

Most factory ECUs actually already has Dynamic Idle, especially at higher elevation or very cold temperatures. We typically do not set a higher idle RPM etc. than the maximum that's set by the factory.

An engine that gets warmer sooner means that you get interior heat sooner (more comfort during cold weather) and reach optimal efficiency (fuel economy) sooner. If you want a permanently raised idle (e.g. 950-1000 RPM) to reduce vibrations, especially with a stiffer aftermarket engine mount, then TuneZilla can also do that.

CP3 HPFP Tuning
Only required if you swap to a CP3 fuel pump. This requires custom tuning work for best results. TuneZilla will not add this to other brand tunes.

Hardcut Rev Limiter
This tune option is for people who want an aggressive Rev Limiter either in neutral or at the top of the rev range in Drive or Sport for DSG's and any gear for manuals while driving. It is mechanically hard on the vehicle and can be set to any custom RPM you prefer - TuneZilla does not recommend exceeding 4600RPM - *We do not offer refunds for this tuning feature!*

Stage 1 - 156 WHP / 288 WTQ (+24 WHP / +55 WTQ)

Stage 2 - 167 WHP / 298 WTQ (+35 WHP / +65 WTQ)

No hardware modification is required. TuneZilla also supports exhaust upgrades with Stage 2. DSG tuning is NOT required for Stage 2.

Stage 3 - 190 WHP / 325 LB-FT (+58 WHP / +92 LB-FT)

Requires a genuine OEM CR190 turbo (not rebuilt or aftermarket). Actual performance depends on EGT limiter and boost creep.

Custom Tuning

If you feel that the existing TuneZilla tune offerings will not work for your application or your intended use, you can request Custom Tuning. Custom Tuning must be requested through the TuneZilla Ticket system, and you must provide vehicle information as well as hardware (upgrades) information. Once submitted, TuneZilla's team of calibrators will evaluate your request and determine if Custom Tuning can achieve your goals. If they are able to do this, your Tune Request will be accepted.

Custom Tuning requires heavy participation from the you, and possibly us. TuneZilla's Calibrators will require that the vehicle has access to dyno time (available at our Maryland Shop Location if you are local) when needed, and data logging is required. If you are not comfortable with data logging, and if you may not be able to access a facility with a dyno (many facilities will rent dyno time) custom tuning may not be possible for you.

Custom Tuning vs. Off The Shelf Tuning

We understand that end users have varying driving styles and build purposes, which is why TuneZilla offers revisions on all of their Off-The-Shelf tunes. By offering Custom Tuning to customers, TuneZilla can be sure you are getting the most out of your vehicle with your specific parts upgrades. The TuneZilla OTS (off-the-shelf) maps are tested in house with as many variables as possible to ensure even if you don’t want to customize your tune, your vehicle’s OEM sensors and adaptations will still be able to optimize our tunes to your region’s fuel and most bolt-on upgrades. Tune Revisions are not the same as Custom Tunes. See TuneZilla Terms and Conditions for their re-tune policy (section 4b)

TuneZilla believes it’s important for customers to understand what is happening inside their engine so they can make informative decisions. The TuneZilla LOG VIEWER automatically generates your vehicles data log .csv files into easy to read graphs which can then be viewed by their Calibrators to find areas of optimization on your vehicle. Not only can this data be used to optimize your tunes, but a lot of troubleshooting and diagnosing can be done by comparing requested data to actual data at a glance.
