Aisin 1000 Transmission Equipped Vehicles - Please Note
If your vehicle is equipped with the Aisin 1000 transmission, you must install a TuneZilla TCU tune to your vehicle in order to use this ECU tune. Two options are available. You may either purchase the full TuneZilla Stage 1 TCU tune, or use a free Stage Plus TCU tune that simply unlocks the torque limit on the Aisin 1000 transmission. ECU Add-ons
Dynamic EGR
Dynamic EGR keeps EGR operating stock like until the engine reaches "warmed up" temperature, usually about 60deg C. Then it closes so there is no EGR flow. All EGR hardware must be functional to use this feature. This feature is ideal for customers who want the advantages of the EGR system while prolonging component life.
Dynamic Idle
Speed up engine-warm up with a 1,100 RPM (or another RPM of your choice) idle. The idle will return to stock state (approximately 830RPM) by 70C (158F) coolant temperature. Results may vary.
Hardcut Rev Limiter
This tune option is for people who want an aggressive Rev Limiter either in neutral or at the top of the rev range in Drive or Sport for DSG's and any gear for manuals while driving. It is mechanically hard on the vehicle and can be set to any custom RPM you prefer - TuneZilla does not recommend exceeding 4600RPM - We do not offer refunds for this tuning feature!
CP3 Conversion
Only required if you swap to a CP3 fuel pump. This requires datalogs from the end user for best results. TuneZilla will not add this to other brand tunes. This add-on can be added to any Stage tune.
Glow Plug Extension
Increases glow plug strength and duration if it's cold enough. Improves cold starting performance (reduced chance of startup smoke and reduced engine stumbling).
ECU Stages
Stage 1 - 268 HP / 470 LB-FT (+43 HP / +65 LB-FT)
Increase range and performance with the Stage 1 tune from TuneZilla. A rework of the original Stage 1 offering.
Stage 2 - 281 HP / 484 LB-FT (+56 HP / +79 LB-FT)
Stage 3 - 312 HP / 531 LB-FT (+87 HP / +126 LB-FT)
Stage 3 tuning offers customers off-the-shelf tuning solutions for various hardware combinations. TuneZilla has partnered with Malone Tuning to develop tried and tested hardware upgrade combinations to deliver reliable tune files for the 3.0 TDI CATA engine. If you are simply looking to do a simple turbo upgrade to replace a worn turbo, or want to maximize your power potential, TuneZilla has a tune file for you.
This tune files require very few hardware upgrades and has been tested to produce the most power without unnecessary upgrades.
Garrett 2260VK
Currently, the TuneZilla Garrett 2260VK tune files are available in BETA. You can access these tune files by creating a tune request in the tickets. They are compatible with FlashZilla Pro. If you do not have a FlashZilla Pro dongle, you can purchase one here.
The TuneZilla Stage 3 tune for the Garrett 2260VK turbo upgrade increases peak torque substantially while utilizing most of the factory fuelling system. The only required hardware upgrades are a 4 bar MAP sensor and the larger 3.0 BiTurbo TDI MAF sensor. The MAF upgrade will aid in smoke control as well as a more linear fuel delivery at higher boost levels.
Darkside 2566VK
Improving top end with little sacrifice to low end spool, the Darkside 2566 takes the 3.0TDI to a new level of peak performance. With only a handful of hardware upgrades required, this turbo upgrade is without a doubt, one of the best upgrades for increasing power and maintaining good around town drivability.
Custom Tuning
If you feel that the existing TuneZilla tune offerings will not work for your application or your intended use, you can request Custom Tuning. Custom Tuning must be requested through the TuneZilla Ticket system, and you must provide vehicle information as well as hardware (upgrades) information. Once submitted, TuneZilla's team of calibrators will evaluate your request and determine if Custom Tuning can achieve your goals. If they are able to do this, your Tune Request will be accepted.
Custom Tuning requires heavy participation from you, and possibly us. TuneZilla's Calibrators will require that the vehicle has access to dyno time (available at our Maryland Shop Location if you are local) when needed, and data logging is required. If you are not comfortable with data logging, and if you may not be able to access a facility with a dyno (many facilities will rent dyno time) custom tuning may not be possible for you.
Custom Tuning vs. Off The Shelf Tuning
We understand that end users have varying driving styles and build purposes, which is why TuneZilla offers revisions on all of their Off-The-Shelf tunes. By offering Custom Tuning to customers, TuneZilla can be sure you are getting the most out of your vehicle with your specific parts upgrades. The TuneZilla OTS (off-the-shelf) maps are tested in house with as many variables as possible to ensure even if you don’t want to customize your tune, your vehicle’s OEM sensors and adaptations will still be able to optimize our tunes to your region’s fuel and most bolt-on upgrades. Tune Revisions are not the same as Custom Tunes. See TuneZilla Terms and Conditions for their re-tune policy (section 4b)
TuneZilla believes it’s important for customers to understand what is happening inside their engine so they can make informative decisions. The TuneZilla LOG VIEWER automatically generates your vehicles data log .csv files into easy to read graphs which can then be viewed by their Calibrators to find areas of optimization on your vehicle. Not only can this data be used to optimize your tunes, but a lot of troubleshooting and diagnosing can be done by comparing requested data to actual data at a glance.

At Home Installation
In order to install this tune yourself, you will need a FlashZilla Pro tuning device and a computer installed with a Windows 10 or newer operating system. You may add a FlashZilla Pro to your order by selecting the option above.
