OE, OEM and Genuine Parts Explained
×OE Or OEM
OE, shorthand for Original Equipment, parts are the same as what was originally installed on your car and what you'd buy at the dealership parts counter, but with the dealer logos removed by the manufacturer (they will be stamped with the OE's name and logo instead).
OEM, Original Equipment Manufacturer, parts are produced by a manufacturer that supplies OE parts to vehicle manufacturers. Because they are produced side-by-side with OE parts, OEM parts are held to strict quality standards and quality control.
Genuine Or Aftermarket
Genuine parts are sourced directly from the vehicle manufacturer and at a higher cost compared to OE and OEM parts. These are the same parts found on your vehicle, and what you'd buy at your dealership's parts counter.
Aftermarket parts are non-factory parts and accessories that are used to repair or maintain a vehicle. These parts may be produced by a manufacturer that supplies OE parts to a vehicle manufacturer, but not always. Aftermarket parts are not original to the car and are often built with affordability in mind. They may also be the only available option for discontinued Genuine parts.
While the benefits of the VW/Audi gasoline direct injection engines are many, there is a single major drawback: carbon buildup. In a traditional fuel injected vehicle the fuel is injected into the intake port of the head on the engine, which in turn helps to clean the intake port and the top of the intake valve. Direct injection bypasses this by injecting fuel directly into the combustion chamber, which results in more power, but lacks the cleaning effect of the fuel spraying into the intake port. This ultimately results in carbon buildup in the intake ports and on the top of the valves. This carbon buildup can cause misfires, a drop in performance and decreased fuel economy.
This two step BG direct injection cleaner kit includes everything that you need to break up and clean up these deposits in just a few steps. The first cleaner is used to soak the carbon deposits and soften it up for scrubbing with the included wire brush and picks. The next step is to vacuum away the loosened deposits. And finally the second cleaner removes the remaining residue from the intake port. After a final wipe down of the intake port and valve, your engine should be ready for several more miles of enjoyment.
Kit Includes:
- Direct Injection Part 1 Cleaner
