This order insures that the shift cable and parking pawl is unloaded. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eYou must SET THE PARKING BRAKE so the vehicle won't roll away!\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eRemove the airbox, battery, and tray for access to the cable and selector lever.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eLoosen the set screw joining the cable and the metal cable end. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eRemove the shiny metal clip from the selector lever on the transmission by flexing the tab slightly toward the engine and sliding the clip radially off post.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDid you set the parking brake?\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eForce the the cable end forward then slide it off the post toward the engine.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOnce the cable end is out of the car, remove the old bushing \u0026amp; press the Dieselgeek bushing in until the flange is flush. Hand force is all that is required.
