APR - 2.0T FSI High Pressure Fuel Pump

In stock and ready to ship!

This is a complete unit, ready to bolt on! Software upgrade may be required for proper function and power gains. Beware of inferior pumps and DIY kits which can significantly damage your engine!

The standard OEM VW /Audi mechanical high pressure fuel pump is fine for your stock ECU tune, but once you begin modifying your 2.0t, it quickly becomes a bottleneck for making reliable power. If the fuel pump cannot supply the fuel the ECU needs at that instant, the ECU will clamp down and you get the "fuel cut."

Because the high pressure pump's output is directly tied ot the engine speed, the OEM pump cannot supply the fuel needed for high horsepower and torque at low RPM. In order to address the lack of fuel in the midrange, the APR FSI fuel pump increases the volume of fuel from the high pressure pump by over 40%. Simplified, this is achieved by modifying some key internal parts within the pump. Changing these components requires precision machining of the new components with special surface treatments, as well as enlarged, redesigned seals. Using inferior components on this critical part can lead to many problems from gasoline in the engine oil (from a bad seal) to complete engine failure (from a seized piston in the high pressure pump).

To give an idea of the tolerances involved, the final surface finish on the piston inside the fuel pump is so critical that it can be damaged by touching them with bare hands. The tolerances between the piston and the new barrel the piston rides in can only be measured by a multi-million dollar machine which uses air volumes to measure the part clearances to within microscopic levels.

All components used by APR are abolutely the best around. The process starts with a brand new OEM fuel pump which is then disassmbled in APR's clean room assmbly area. All pumps are tested for proper seal and performance before they are shipped, even going as far as to bring the pumps up to full operating temperature for testing.

APR's FSI pumps have been track tested by APR with their own Koni Challenge race cars for over a year, with hundred of thousands of miles of combined usage. Even more impressive, when Volkswagen Motorsport was building the new Scirocco GT24 race car, racing to a class victory at the 2008 24 hours of Nurnburgring, they turned to APR. APR FSI fuel pumps and injectors were used in all three entries. All three GT24 racecars finished the race without a single hiccup from their APR parts. If this pump is good enough for the VW factory racing team, you can bet it is the best choice for your personal car.

Please note! To ensure flawless drivability the APR 2.0T FSI fuel pump requires APR engine management recalibration to allow for the increased size of the APR fuel pump. If you already have APR software installed this recalibration upgrade is included in the fuel pump price, otherwise it needs to be purchased separately. Currently, some APR Stage II and K04 turbocharger clients will be able to take advantage of increased horsepower and torque up to 25hp and 35lb ft with APR fuel pump specific engine management performance recalibrations.
